Tock is now part of Resy. American Express announced on February 24, 2026 that Tock would merge into Resy, and on August 11, 2026 Tock’s restaurants, wineries, and experiences went live on Resy, including nearly 1,200 wineries. For wineries deciding where their reservations should live next, the strongest switch in 2026, for a single tasting room or a multi-estate group, is Oxto Reserve: $125 a month plus 1.5% per reservation, with the booking widget, prepaid reservations, reservation requests, guest taste profiles, and a discovery marketplace included.

Tock did not stop working overnight. But your guest-facing booking brand is changing whether you act or not, so this is the cheapest moment you will get to compare. This guide covers what has been reported, what has not, a neutral migration checklist, and a side-by-side of Resy (formerly Tock), CellarPass, and Oxto Reserve.

Is Tock going away?

The Tock consumer brand is. As reported at the February announcement, once Tock’s catalog is absorbed by Resy, the Tock website and app go dark, and guests book those venues through the Resy app and site instead. American Express described the combined platform as more than 25,000 venues.

Tock’s venue software is a different story. The same reporting said Tock’s restaurant management software would keep operating as usual as part of Resy, and that Tock features such as tiered experiences and prepaid bookings are coming to Resy rather than disappearing. So for most wineries the change is guest-facing first: where your listing lives, whose app your guests open, and whose brand sits on the booking page.

The timeline, as published:

  • February 24, 2026. American Express announces Tock will merge into Resy, with the move planned for summer 2026.
  • August 11, 2026. Tock’s restaurants, wineries, and experiences go live on Resy. Resy names wineries including Heitz Cellar, Ridge Vineyards, Scribe Winery, and Sandhi Wines, and plans a wine-country editorial hub at resy.com/wineries.
  • September 15, 2026. The Amex Resy Credit begins expanding to select Tock venues, with more becoming eligible in the following months.

What changes for wineries on Tock?

Here is what has been reported, and what has not. Stick to the first column when you plan.

Guest booking appTock app and exploretock.com go dark; guests book through ResyExact shutdown date for every legacy Tock link
Venue softwareTock’s management software keeps running as part of ResyA date when Tock’s dashboard is replaced or merged

Pricing and feesNothing announcedAny change to Tock’s $289 to $459 plans or prepayment fees

The Amex angle is real, and it cuts both ways. Resy Credit can nudge cardholders toward eligible venues, which helps if your winery is eligible. It also means your listing now sits in a restaurant-first app next to thousands of dinner reservations, and eligibility is decided by the platform, not by you.

If you are staying put for now, ask your account rep three questions in writing: will my pricing or prepayment fee change in the next 12 months, when will my dashboard change, and will my existing widget and booking links keep working without edits. The answers tell you how much of a migration you are facing either way.

Which reservation platform should a winery switch to in 2026?

For most wineries, from a single tasting room to a multi-estate portfolio, Oxto Reserve is the switch that pays for itself fastest. It costs less than Tock’s published entry plan, it includes the tools wineries actually use (widget, prepaid and complimentary reservations, deposits, reservation requests, ticketed events, club member perks), and it adds something a reservation tool does not: a discovery marketplace where guests find wineries by taste and atmosphere, then book in the same place.

The reason to look now, rather than next year, is that a forced change already carries most of the switching cost. Your guests are learning a new booking brand. Your team may be learning a new dashboard. Your website links may need updating. If you are going to touch all of that anyway, do it once, onto the platform you would choose with a blank sheet.

The cost of waiting is concrete. On a $3,000 month in tastings, Tock’s Essential plan works out to about $379 before card processing if those bookings are prepaid ($289 plus 3%). Oxto Reserve on the same month is $170 ($125 plus 1.5%), or $1,250 a year with no per-reservation fee. That is roughly $2,500 a year back on a modest month, before counting a single guest the marketplace sends you. See winery reservation fees explained for the full math.

Resy vs Tock vs CellarPass vs Oxto: how do they compare?

Resy and Tock are now one company, so the practical comparison is Resy (formerly Tock) against the wine-country tools. OpenTable is included because it is the other name wineries hear, though it is built around restaurant covers. Pricing is from each company’s published pages as of September 2026; card processing is extra on every platform.

Where each rival is genuinely strong: Resy carries the Amex cardholder audience and restaurant reach, which matters if your winery runs a full-service restaurant. OpenTable has the largest restaurant network. Neither was built around a tasting room. For reservations, events, member perks, and finding new wine guests, Oxto covers every row at the lowest published price. For a wider field, see our Tock alternatives guide.

How do you move off Tock without losing guests?

This checklist works whichever platform you pick, including staying on Resy. Do the exports first, while everything is still where you expect it.

  • Export guest data. Pull every guest with email, phone, visit count, notes, and marketing consent status. Keep the raw file; you will want it again.
  • Export reservation history. At least the last 12 to 24 months, with party size, experience, spend, and no-shows. This is your baseline for pricing and staffing.
  • List future bookings. Every confirmed reservation after your switch date, with deposits paid. Decide which platform honors each one and tell those guests once, clearly.
  • Rebuild experiences. Name, description, duration, capacity, party-size limits, price tiers, and add-ons for every tasting and tour. Photos too.
  • Copy policies word for word. Cancellation window, deposit and no-show rules, minimum age, pets, large-party rules. Guests notice when these change.
  • Swap the widget and links. Replace the booking widget on your site, then hunt down every other link: Google Business Profile, Instagram bio, email footers, visitor-bureau listings, QR codes on printed menus.
  • Move club perks. Export your club roster from your club or POS system and re-create member rates, complimentary tastings, and blackout dates.
  • Run both for a short overlap. Keep the old calendar closed to new bookings but live for existing ones until the last pre-switch reservation has visited.

On Oxto, the last two steps are built in: import your club roster by CSV so members are flagged at booking, then set per-event member benefits (complimentary tickets, a percent off, or a dollar discount) plus comps and blackout dates you control.

Why is Oxto the obvious switch for wineries of every size?

Oxto Reserve does the Tock job (prepaid tastings, deposits, ticketed events) for less than Tock’s entry plan, and it adds the part a reservation tool cannot: guests who have not heard of you yet.

  • Every booking type. Party sizes, tiered and per-experience pricing, deposits and split payments, prepaid and complimentary reservations, reservation requests you approve, and no-show mode.
  • Events in the same system. Ticketed events with capacity and waitlists, plus per-event club member benefits.
  • A guest CRM that knows wine. Guest taste profiles and visit history, so your team knows what someone likes before they sit down.
  • Built for groups. One login across several wineries with a winery switcher, and team members per winery with roles. Each estate or tasting room runs as its own winery, with unlimited users and events.
  • Discovery that sends guests. 790+ approved wineries across 45+ wine regions in 12 states and 16K+ active users on web and iOS, matched by taste and atmosphere.
  • Your money, your bank. Payouts go to your own bank through Stripe. Guests always book free. 24/7 support, an AI assistant, and AI search are included.

Frequently asked questions

Is Tock going away?

The Tock consumer app and exploretock.com are going dark as Tock’s venues move onto Resy. American Express announced the merger on February 24, 2026, and Tock’s restaurants, wineries, and experiences went live on Resy on August 11, 2026. Reporting at the announcement said Tock’s venue management software keeps operating as part of Resy.

What does the Tock and Resy merger mean for wineries?

Guests now find and book former Tock wineries through the Resy app, nearly 1,200 wineries in all, and select Tock venues became eligible for the Amex Resy Credit starting September 15, 2026. No pricing or fee changes for wineries have been announced. Many wineries are using the change to compare options such as Oxto Reserve, which costs $125 a month plus 1.5% per reservation.

What is the best Tock alternative for wineries in 2026?

Oxto Reserve is the strongest Tock alternative for most wineries, from a single tasting room to a multi-estate group. It includes the booking widget, prepaid and complimentary reservations, deposits, reservation requests, ticketed events, club member perks, and guest taste profiles for $125 a month plus 1.5%, or $1,250 a year at 0%, and it adds a taste-matched discovery marketplace.

Resy vs Tock: which is better for a winery?

Resy and Tock are now the same company, so it is no longer a choice between them. Tock’s published winery plans run $289 to $459 a month plus 2 to 3% on prepayments, and Resy’s app is restaurant-first. Wineries wanting a wine-first platform at a lower price usually compare Oxto Reserve and CellarPass.

OpenTable vs Tock for wineries?

OpenTable is built around restaurant covers, with published plans from $149 to $499 a month plus per-cover fees, and Tock (now Resy) is built around prepaid restaurant experiences. Neither was designed for tasting rooms. Oxto Reserve is built for wineries, with member perks, reservation requests, taste profiles, and wine discovery included.

Is Oxto a good fit for a large or multi-estate winery?

Yes. Oxto Reserve runs wineries of every size, including multi-estate portfolios and hospitality groups. One login covers several wineries through a winery switcher, each winery has its own team members and roles, users and events are unlimited, and 24/7 support is included.

How do I migrate my winery reservations off Tock?

Export guest data and 12 to 24 months of reservation history first, list every future booking and deposit, rebuild experiences and copy policies exactly, move club perks from your roster, then swap the booking widget and every link on Google, social, and email. On Oxto, club rosters import by CSV so member perks apply at booking.
