About
Mark Ryan Winery opened in Woodinville's Old Redhook Brewery complex with a clear mission: make serious Washington reds from Red Mountain AVA fruit. Since 1999, winemaker Mark McNeilly has sourced from top vineyards like Ciel du Cheval, building a reputation for Bordeaux blends and Rhône-style wines that prioritize structure over crowd-pleasing fruit bombs. The tasting room reflects this approach—vintage motorcycle in the lobby, rock-and-roll edge, no pretense. They offer Classic ($35) and Reserve ($60) flights, both refundable with purchase. The upstairs deck works well for groups, and they've added a solid charcuterie program. Walk-ins are welcome, though reservations are available. The staff knows their vineyards and will talk terroir if you're interested. Dogs allowed on the patio, large groups accommodated with advance notice.
The Oxto Edit
Oxto AIMark Ryan's been crushing Red Mountain Cabernet and Syrah since before Woodinville became wine Disneyland. The Woodinville tasting room has a bourbon-bar-meets-motorcycle-shop vibe—not your precious boutique winery experience. They pull fruit from Ciel du Cheval and other Red Mountain heavyweights, making dense, structured reds that actually age. The deck is solid on summer days, and they'll talk viticulture if you want to get into it.
