Gilchrist Farm Winery sits in downtown Suttons Bay combining estate winemaking with a three-quarter-acre market garden. The wines are notably clean—no back-sweetening to mask flaws, just well-made bottles from their cool maritime microclimate. The barrel-fermented Chardonnay, double-gold Grüner Veltliner, and estate Pinot Noir reflect real technical skill. Their farm-to-table program runs on organically-grown vegetables from their own land, supplemented by other local farms. Open Tuesday through Saturday with walk-ins welcome, though reservations help. Dogs allowed on the patio. Tuesdays mean $5 select wines and smashburgers. They host private events and occasional pig roasts.
