The family behind it never left—they're born-and-raised peninsula people making wine from the 45th parallel's specific terroir. Their minimalist winemaking lets Michigan fruit speak: sun, rain, wind, soil. The cider program runs parallel to wine production, with a habanero version that sells by the case. Outside, there's a small patio with vineyard views and lawn games. Staff will guide you through flights or mix a mocktail. The converted school building integrates original details, and the whole setup feels less touristy than neighboring operations. They accommodate tour buses but haven't lost their local character. Wines like their Cab Franc can age—one customer cellared a 2005 bottle for 21 years. The Gold Rush and Pop Quiz bottlings have repeat customers.
