Black Star Farms' Old Mission tasting room sits five minutes from downtown Traverse City, making it the easiest access point on the peninsula. While they run a full resort operation at their Suttons Bay estate (inn, weddings, goat yoga—the works), this location keeps it simple: estate-grown wines and house spirits. The Pinot Noir and Cabernet Franc deliver proper Michigan terroir—no fruit shipped in from warmer climates. They also pour flights of old fashioneds made from their distillery. The patio overlooks Old Mission's farmland, staff actually know the wines, and you can taste several pours without the hard sell. Mid-tier pricing reflects the estate-grown commitment.
