Besson Family Vineyards is working 100-year-old vines in Gilroy that most wineries would have ripped out decades ago. The Bessons—now in their fifth generation—are still farming the original 1920s plantings on Hecker Pass, and recently grafted Grenache onto 125-year-old rootstock because apparently they enjoy hard mode.
